Governance and Policy Critique (GAP) is aspiring to be the flagship academic publication of The Change Foundation(TCF). GAP is one of the crucial arms of TCF committed to publish and disseminate rigorous theoretical, applied and empirical research that augments our existing understanding of public policies and their impact. we welcome original and unpublished essays from all social science disciplines and all shades of intellectual persuasions. All essays published in the Journal are subjected to rigorous peer review, based on initial editors’ screening and double-blind referring by independent experts.

TCF is thoroughly dedicated to working actively in Research and Education Field. Without a proper channel to showcase the new knowledge, it would not be possible for knowledge to grow. Today with lack of a proper platform for scholars to exhibit their research knowledge it is difficult to let the world know about the ideas and knowledge been shared. TCF is a Research and Education Trust and is totally focused and motivated to continuously work academic research and help genuine scholars and research help publish their esteemed work.  

The vision behind the journal is to providing avenues to inculcate new knowledge and create a critical analysis of new dimensions in policy discourse. It would be a launch pad for research student and researchers to push forward their research agendas and ideas.

Therefore, the mission of the journal is to provide the ideal platform to ignite ideas and usher intellectual capital. It is based on the liberal conception of knowledge for all by ordaining itself to make the change in the world.

As a research journal, we are hugely inspired by EPW and Down To Earth and seek to follow their Footprints in our academic journey.


We offer various categories for publication:

  • Article

The first thing in the format should consist of the title of the manuscript produced by the author. Then it should be followed by the affiliation of the author with such as the Author Name, Department, College, State, Country, Mobile Number and E-Mail. The manuscript should contain an abstract not more than 500 words and should include about 4 to 5 keywords below the abstract. As the manuscript progress further down its heading and subheading should be numbered.

The general format that the publisher follows for the manuscript;

  • Introduction
  • Conceptual frame and Methodology
  • Outcome
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • Bibliography

The body text of the manuscript should be times new roman with the font size of 12. The spacing of the entire paper should be 1.5. The alignment in the page layout should have a left indent of 1.5 cm right indent of 1 cm and page number at the bottom of the page. Bibliography, citations and endnotes should be in the American Psychological Association manual for the works referred to be it books, edited books, reports, online sources, etc. The manuscript should have endnotes instead of footnotes. The tables and figures should be at the end of the endnotes with proper numbering. The total number of words in the manuscript should have a minimum of 5000 words and not more than 8000 words.

Apart from the research article the PCI journal also focus on perspective/commentary/Insight/opinion from a participant who is interested in discussing policy research problems.

  • Perspective is a piece of personal opinion of reviewing a certain topic. Perspectives should be to raise awareness about a new idea and help construct new ideas to it. It should provide information on key findings and of the latest development in the said area of research. The authors who are writing the perspectives for the journal are expected to discuss the most recent developments and its implications to the society as a whole. Perspective is a short piece which should include an abstract, a reference list and tables and figures if required. It should contain at least around 2500 to 5000 words. A perspective should review the concept and not the research studies already done.
  • Opinions a piece of the short article where the author tries to convey the personal opinion an issue. They are meant to provide constructive criticism to the issue. Opinions generally should critique the chosen area but the author should have evidence to support the argument. The opinions should discuss the issue which is critical to the research community. It should be simple so that anyone without the basic knowledge of the issue should be able to understand it. The opinion does not require an abstract and should be around 1000 words in general. If required the author can have up to five references.
  • A commentary is a short piece of research article where the analysis is made on a certain area of study. It is believed that the author who is writing a commentary should be an expert in the said domain. The author has in-depth knowledge about the subject matter and is eager to present a new viewpoint into the existing problems. Normally a commentary may draw analysis or discuss current problems and try to speculate the future directions on the matter by putting forward the author’s direction. It can be also the viewpoint of the author but must include original data to substantiate the personal viewpoint. It should basically be around 1500 to 3000 words.

Themes of the publication f the research paper, it should be based on the themes when a call for papers are advertised on the website and circulated in an email. The themes that are prescribed should be focused specifically on Governance and Policy.

Apart from the research articles not submitted during the notification of call for paper can submit their full papers through email. Such type of article if accepted will be published in a special issue as per the decision of the editorial committee. The other research discourse such as opinions, book reviews, commentary, editorials, insights, perspective, etc., can be submitted at any time. Such fields have no time bound submission but the topics in which the paper is based have to be on related with respect to public policy. It is advised to all the interested participants to strictly adhere to the themes.
